Finding a Project Idea Using the PBL Matrix

If like me, you work best with loud music and unlimited room for creativity, try the rapid fire brainstorm strategy. It’s the same used by IDEO, a creative design firm based in the States. You will only need post- it notes, a pen, and an open mind. Stand with your teammates around a table, or if working digitally, use this jamboard, or the sample padlets (MS, HS) you used before, set the timer for 5 minutes and jot down as many project ideas as you can. Watch the video below for a sample of this strategy.

After your five minutes is up, organize your project ideas according to impact, integration of content/skills and engagement. Find the best idea that lands in the upper right hand quadrant, and voila, you have your project idea! You are ready to start planning the project using the project planning template.

Leave a comment below sharing your project idea with the group in 2 sentences or less.
